Our client is a fast-growing Australian home and lifestyle brand that has built a strong reputation across eCommerce, retail and digital channels. With a passionate and high-performing team, they are now looking for a Creative Director to define, evolve and protect the brand’s creative and visual identity across all touchpoints.
This is a strategic leadership role working closely with the senior leadership team. The Creative Director will oversee brand storytelling, campaign development, product launches and visual identity across digital, retail and experiential environments. You will lead the creative function of the business, ensuring the brand remains distinctive, culturally relevant and commercially effective as it continues to scale.
This role would suit someone stepping into their first Creative Director position, or someone who has held the title and is looking for a role where they can genuinely shape the creative vision of a brand and build the creative function around them.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design team, setting the creative vision and direction for visual communications across digital, social, print, packaging, retail and experiential channels.
- Define and maintain the brand’s visual language, ensuring consistency and distinction in a competitive lifestyle market.
- Champion and evolve the brand aesthetic, guiding internal teams and external partners on how the brand should look and feel.
- Oversee the creative strategy and art direction for product launches, promotional campaigns, retail initiatives and performance marketing collateral.
- Concept and lead photoshoots, managing the process from ideation through to post-production and final asset delivery.
- Ensure creative outputs align with broader commercial objectives, seasonal strategies and growth targets.
- Lead creative direction for new product development in collaboration with product and leadership teams.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the design team, setting creative standards and supporting professional development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product and leadership teams to ensure creative output aligns with wider business strategy.
- Manage external creative partners, including photographers, stylists, production teams and freelance talent.
- Identify opportunities to improve creative processes, workflows and asset management systems as the business grows.
Your Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in design, art direction or creative leadership roles, ideally within eCommerce, retail, homewares or lifestyle brands.
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring creative teams.
- Strong campaign concepting and shoot art direction capabilities.
- Exceptional taste level with a strong understanding of colour, typography and layout systems.
- Experience building and maintaining cohesive brand identities across multiple channels.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of performance marketing and retail environments.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required.
- Confident communicator who can present ideas, influence stakeholders and advocate for strong creative thinking.
