Account Director

Our client is an Auckland-based shopper marketing agency - intertwining research, strategy, creative, and media to help clients reach consumers. They are looking for an Account Director to join their team.

In this role of Account Director will have responsibilities for managing client relationships and contributing to the management of the agency.  As the senior point of contact for the agency’s clients, the Account Director will co-ordinate the resources needed to service projects, build strategic operational and marketing plans and balance the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work.

This role will also be involved in the senior leadership team, helping mentoring of staff and enhancing the digital expertise and offering within the Agency.

You will ensure the smooth production of projects and campaigns – from briefing creative, to managing budgets and the rollout of work.

On the day to day:

  • Working with clients in developing marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Managing and leading any direct reports to provide the utmost level of client service
  • Liaising with clients at a senior level on a day-to-day basis
  • Promoting the expansion of business with existing clients
  • Completing projects to a specific timeline and within an agreed budget
  • Using your skills to push clients and the agency, creatively and strategically
  • Writing creative and task briefs
  • Managing jobs within the finance system
  • Preparing budgets and generating estimates and billing
  • Working with other team members to generate new business opportunities

 

Project Management

  • Participate in strategic guidance with your client and maintain operational excellence in the day-to-day running of the account while effectively managing client expectations
  • Understand the clients’ industry, products or service, objectives and challenges inside-and-out
  • Leverage these insights to drive success for the client and agency
  • Working with agency management to make recommendations on long-term strategy, plans and solutions both within the agency and to clients
  • Foster and grow strong client relationships by proactive thinking, planning and actions.
