A Harmonious Fusion of Art and Nature
This October, Comber Street Studios will display an exhibition featuring the compelling works of Ulan Murray and Rachel Burns, a creative duo whose partnership in life and art has flourished for over twenty years. Running from the 17th to the 27th of October, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the profound connections between humanity and the natural world through their meticulously crafted sculptures.
Ulan Murray, with a degree in Biology and a background in horticulture, brings a deep appreciation for the intricate beauty of nature to his sculptural practice. His works are a celebration of biomorphic forms, capturing the essence of the natural world’s complexity in every piece. Rachel Burns, on the other hand, draws on her extensive education in Fine Arts from Sydney University and a Bachelor of Creative Arts with Honours from Wollongong University. Her artistic repertoire spans sculpture, painting, and printmaking, with a particular focus on landscapes.
Together, Ulan and Rachel’s collaboration is a seamless blend of scientific inquiry and artistic expression. Their works not only captivate the eye but also invite reflection on the relationship between art and the environment. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to witness the result of their shared vision and dedication to exploring the intersection of nature and art.
